RSAF Service

The RSAF was the first and subsequently the only, non Panavia country to purchase the Tornado. Other countries had placed orders before the RSAF but none of these resulted in deliveries.

Originally 48 IDS and 24 ADV were ordered.  Due to the tight delivery schedules 18 RAF and 2 German airframes were diverted from batch 5. The 24 ADVs were diverted from batch 6. The remaining 28 IDS were delivered from  batch 7.

A further 48 IDS were ordered and delivered from Batch 9.
